What it does
Turns Slack into a conversation channel for your Intelligent Contact on Blip. Messages from users in Slack flow into your Blip bot and the chatbot's replies come back as a direct message (DM) in Slack, with the bot's name and profile picture. Everything happens in real time, in both directions.
Key features
- Quick setup: connect the channel to your Slack workspace by authorizing the app directly from the extension screen.
- Two-way conversation: messages from your team members become conversations in Blip, and the bot's replies land as DMs in Slack.
- Text, files, and images: attachments sent in Slack are forwarded to the bot, and files from the bot are delivered back in Slack.
- Interactive menus: Blip menu options become clickable buttons in Slack, and the selection is sent back to the flow.
- Automatic contact identification: the Slack user's name, email, and profile picture are registered as a contact in Blip.
- Optional custom app: use your own Slack credentials (Client ID, Client Secret, and Signing Secret) instead of the default app.
Requirements
- A Slack workspace with permission to install and authorize the app.
- Authorize Slack from the extension screen to connect the channel to the bot.
- Each workspace is linked to a single bot. Installing in a new bot replaces the previous configuration.
Benefits
- Internal chatbots and process automation for your team, right inside the tool they already use.
- Support and communication in the same place, without moving team members to a different channel.
- Real-time exchange of messages, files, and menus between Blip and Slack.
